Scientific education is now more important in our world than it was before. Oftentimes, there is still a gap between highly technical science and what can be readily understood. Representing science visually helps take a difficult scientific concept and communicate it to the world.
Mary Koger is a science communicator with an undergraduate degree in Scientific Illustration from Arcadia University and is currently achieving her master's in Data Analytics and Visualization from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She currently resides in the Washington DC metropolitan area where she works making visual infographics. Clients have included the Annapolis Maritime Museum as well as several programs within the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) like the NWCA (National Wetlands Condition Assessment), NCCA (National Coastal Condition Assessment), and NLA (National Lakes Assessment). That's a lot of acronyms!
In her downtime, Mary enjoys growing her herb garden from scratch, watching bad movies, and visiting museums.
